The official MLB opening day is April 3rd. For many American’s, this is a NATIONAL HOLIDAY. A day marked on calendars a year in advance, vacation days scheduled from work, and friends gathered for the tremendous event. This is the official start of baseball season. I know, you’re all cheering right now. At least we are!
Baseball is known as America’s favorite past time for a reason… because it’s freakin’ awesome! We’ve been counting down the days, and are anxiously awaiting the first pitch. As a St. Louis based company, we are of course mostly Cardinals fans. The Cardinals will be taking on the Chicago Cubs for our opening day on April 2nd (with 2 teams this talented, we get an earlier opening day!) and needless to say, IT’S GOING DOWN! Who do you think is going to win, the 2016 World Series Champs, or the extremely talented St. Louis Cardinals, with the best fans in baseball…let us know your picks?
Now, you might be thinking, “but I’m a cord cutter, how am I suppose to watch my favorite team kick ass and take names?” Oh, my friends. We’ve got you covered! First of all, there’s your handy, dandy, trusty HDTV antenna. Any MLB game shown on network TV can be enjoyed thanks to your antenna! You can’t go wrong with Free TV.
For those games not aired on broadcast TV, you’re in luck! This is the year where you can watch baseball online! Of the 30 Major League Baseball teams, 20 teams have a way to stream baseball online through streaming services. Those lucky 20 teams are: Angels, A’s, Braves, Brewers, Cardinals, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Giants, Indians, Marlins, Padres, Phillies, Rangers, Rays, Reds, Royals, Tigers, Twins, White Sox, and the Yankees.
If you’re a baseball fan, Sling TV Blue ($25 per month) is going to be your friend this year. All 20 of the above teams can be found on Sling Blue, so if you’re a fan, you’re set.
FuboTV also offers the NBC and Fox regional sports networks, so all 20 teams are available to watch online, and the price is a little higher at $34.99 per month.
Now, if you live in the 10 markets not available through FuboTV or Sling, MLB.TV will be the way to go. They have several different options, ranging in price from $24.99 a month, $87.49/year for just your team, or the most popular option, $112.99/year for the Premium pass. With a MLB.TV subscription, you’ll have access to all the games your heart could desire.
Think about how much money you’re saving each month by cutting the cable cord. With all that money you’re saving, you can buy a private box at a game, and throw a party for all your friends! We’re not saying you should, it’s just an idea.
Happy Opening Day to all our baseball fans out there! Even though we might not be cheering for the same team, we’re all on the cord cutting boat and happy to help each other save money, and watch the wonderful game of baseball.
